PEACE Through MUSIC

The Yamhill Valley Peacemakers have been active in the Yamhill County area since 1980. The group provides fellowship and a forum for the community that is committed to non-violence, social justice, and good stewardship of the earth.

For 2010 the Peacemakers have adopted the program emphasis of Peace through Music and will sponsor several events around this theme:

* May 13 sponsoring a showing of Playing for Change: Peace Through Music at Moonlight Theater in downtown McMinnville (showings at 6 & 7:30 PM)

* May 23 putting on an all-day Music Festival from 1 PM until 10 PM at the McMinnville Grand Ballroom. Download a color poster (11"x17") or flyer (letter size) of the event and share it with your friends. * Putting out a CD of a peace song done by local musicians and featuring a new song written especially for the Peacemakers by local songwriter Howie Harkema called "Light of Peace."
